The micro has been sold and I hope that the new owner, Dave Tucker, enjoys the car and has fun. I am going to try
to get my other micro ready for next year so the #5 will return to enjoy the wonderful world of microsprints.
August 14th
With twin features on the bill, the micro was ready to roll and I was excited to see how things would play out.
In the heat, the #18 of Joey Herramans bogged at the start and the #72 of Bob Kelly and I were off in a hurry and we finished
in that order. The motor still seemed to have issues and some more homework needed to be done. Charles Forgues
gave us a helping hand and the motor was much better in the feature. Oh yeah the feature, being that I finished
in the second spot in the first heat it meant that the forth place starting spot was mine. On the start, I was able
to keep up somewhat then lost some spots to the #3 of Dean Parker and the #34 of Scott Chestermans. After I ran some
more laps things started to settle down and I started to catch up to these guys and started to put some pressure on Dean.
Then Dean got into the slick stuff and spun, too bad because I don't think I would have got him but, we were going to have
fun. Nothing more exciting for me in this race but, the battle for the lead at the end of the feature was something
to watch with a touch of rubbing and a lot of excitment. Forth place finish for the #5 and congrats to Scott Chesterman
for the win. In the second feature, I got to start near the back and had some great battles with the #17 of Craig Housden
and #55 of Jordan Hanna and had a great time. I think I was fortunate to get up to the forth spot again and I was super
happy with that. It was a lot of fun to battle it out with everybody but, I think seeing how happy Brook Chinnery was
when he won was just as fun. Congrats to Brook and looking forward to running the mirco again soon.
July 24th
After a long winter of being rebuilt and cleaned up the micro was ready to roll and I was excited to get things started.
Unfortunately, when I went to paint the hood I went to the cupboard and didn't have any paint! So the first week the
car's hood would have to be grey but, I really don't think it mattered. In the heat, I had to start at the back and
luckly was able to move into a qualifying spot and was able to finish in the third spot. In the feature, I had
forgotten how crazy these guys are and was trying to remember how to drive these things. I moved up a couple spots but,
then made a slip up coming out of turn four and lost those spots back. I had some good battles with the #72 of Bob Kelly
and #7 of Dave Chesterman but, had nothing more for anybody else. The motor seemed to be laying down a little so some
work to help that out will have to be done. Great fun though and I think the car is better after the surgery and I was
happy to finish in the eighth spot with no damage other than a broken clutch spring. Looking forward to the next week
was race, see you there!!
